The Role

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our busy asphalt plant in Yatala, on a full-time basis. This role will provide training for those new to the asphalt industry and allow for growth and development within the company.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Carrying out a wide range of testing for construction materials, such as asphalt and aggregates
  • Undertaking testing results analysis and interpretation
  • Applying appropriate procedures and equipment based on testing requirements
  • Setting up, calibrating, and maintaining equipment
  • Devising standard operation procedures for test equipment
  • Preparation of reports and assessments
  • Ensuring the safe operation of equipment
  • Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders

The Ideal Candidate will possess the following essential skills and experience:

  • Preferably a Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques in CMT Testing
  • Previous experience within the construction or asphalt industry
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Strong mathematical or technical abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours including night shift & weekends as required
  • Flexibility to travel and work away when required
  • Ability to work under pressure and work through issues
  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow instructions
