CHD Design is a building design practice based in Sydney, working on projects both locally and internationally.

We are seeking a
Senior Building Designer / Architectural Draftsperson
 to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent role, and CHD Design is prepared to offer visa sponsorship for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

l Produce detailed design drawings, documentation, and 3D models for residential, Hospitality, and  commercial projects.

l Coordinate DA, CC, CDC submissions and liaise with councils, consultants, and clients.

l Apply knowledge of the BCA/NCC, Australian Standards, and local planning requirements.

l Develop design concepts for complex and large-scale projects, including high-rise residential, luxury resorts, hospitality venues, and play/recreational spaces.

l Prepare construction documentation, specifications, and tender packages.

l Ensure design accuracy, functionality, and compliance throughout all project stages.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Ø Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Building Design, or related field.

Ø 7+ years' international design and drafting experience
 across multiple project types (residential, high-rise, hospitality, resorts, play/recreation, interiors, and commercial).

Ø Proven ability to adapt design to diverse cultural and regulatory environments (experience across
Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe
 highly regarded).

Ø Advanced proficiency in
Revit (BIM)
, Dynamo, Rhino, 3Ds Max, Twinmotion, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools.

Ø Strong technical drafting and detailing knowledge.

Ø Demonstrated capability to deliver projects from concept to completion in both local and international contexts.

Desirable Skills:

Experience leading design teams and mentoring junior designers.

Familiarity with AI and digital technologies applied to design workflows.

Portfolio showcasing award-winning or internationally recognized projects.

Salary:
 AUD 80,000 – 100,000 + superannuation (depending on skills and experience).

This role is unique and requires a designer/draftsperson with global experience and technical versatility. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
