Legal Secretary

We are seeking a passionate Legal Secretary/Assistant to join our dedicated team within our litigation team. The position is based in Byron Bay, New South Wales and is permanent full time.

Somerville Laundry Lomax Solicitors was established in 1888 and offers legal services in a variety of fields including: commercial law, family law, litigation, criminal and wills and probate.

The role will include:

  • Working in a litigation and personal injury team;
  • Assisting and supporting the solicitors with administration/secretarial tasks;
  • Preparing correspondence and court documents;
  • Arranging and booking travel;
  • Organising and booking conferences and appointments;
  • Handling client and associate queries via email and phone; and
  • File and diary management.

The successful candidate will be provided training in Leap software but proficiency would be beneficial.

About you:

A successful candidate will have the following:

  • Experience working in a law firm (desirable but not essential);
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • High level of attention to detail;
  • Strong administration skills;
  • Fantastic time management and the ability to multitask;
  • A great work ethic; and
  • Professional manner.
