About the role:

We're currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer for a well-established organisation based in Perth. This role offers the chance to step into a high-volume payroll environment where accuracy, professionalism, and strong stakeholder engagement are key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles
  • Ensure all payroll activity is completed accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain and update employee files and payroll data
  • Manage manual payments, terminations, leave reconciliations, and workers' compensation payments
  • Produce payroll reports and respond to internal and external payroll enquiries
  • Action requests through the internal service ticketing system
  • Support management with payroll-related information and reports
  • Identify and escalate award interpretation discrepancies
  • Assist with government and ABS reporting requirements
  • Provide general team support and step in for the Payroll Team Leader when needed

About You

  • Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and award interpretation
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
  • Solid time-management abilities and a commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • A collaborative approach, with the confidence to work independently when required
  • Knowledge of Payroll systems: Chris21, SAP SF, Pronto, or ELMO (advantageous)
