Are you a seasoned mining leader with a passion for safety and operational excellence? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where your expertise directly impacts success? We're on the hunt for an exceptional Senior Production Supervisor to join our team.

Your new role

As a Senior Production Supervisor, you'll oversee critical daily activities and contributing to our long-term strategic goals.

  • Coordinate and oversee multiple production supervisors to ensure consistent execution of mine plans and daily targets.
  • Act as the delegate for the Production Superintendent when required.
  • Review daily performance data and collaborate with supervisors to address shortfalls or variances in productivity, equipment utilisation, and compliance.
  • Provide operational guidance and mentoring to Production Supervisors and Leading Hands.
  • Ensure work areas and activities are in alignment with Safety and Health Management System.
  • Assist with short and medium-term planning inputs by providing operational feedback on scheduling, resourcing, and constraints.
  • Collaborate with Technical Services, Drill & Blast, and Maintenance to coordinate operational readiness and execution priorities.
  • Escalate issues impacting productivity, safety, or resourcing to the Production Superintendent with recommended actions.
  • Lead investigations into significant operational or safety incidents, ensuring lessons learned are communicated and implemented.
  • Monitor and enforce fatigue management, equipment allocation, and hot-seat changeover compliance across crews.
  • Support workforce planning including training needs, succession planning, and recruitment inputs in conjunction with HR.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by coaching supervisors on people management, communication, and accountability.
  • Assist with maintaining a consistent communication loop between the site leadership team and the frontline workforce.
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and proposing actionable solutions.
  • Lead daily cross-department coordination meetings to align activities and resolve interface issues.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in a large mining operation
  • Current Mining Supervisor G1, G8, G9 (formerly S1, S2, S3) and G2
  • Previous similar leadership experience within an open cut operation
  • Knowledge of current WHS legislation and statutory requirements
  • Flexible and adaptable to different working environments, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be a team player with the ability to mentor and lead other staff
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Competency using Microsoft Office Suite
