Your new role

As the Production Leading Hand, you will play a key hands-on role supporting the Production Supervisor to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operations. This position is ideal for an experienced operator ready to step up or an established leading hand looking for a strong, stable team.

  • Assist the Production Supervisor to lead daily production activities
  • Provide guidance and support to operators, ensuring safe and consistent work practices
  • Monitor dig, load and haul activities to ensure production targets are met
  • Conduct field-based safety leadership, including toolbox talks and pre-start participation
  • Support coordination of crew movements, machine allocation and task planning
  • Identify and report hazards, equipment issues and production variances
  • Promote teamwork and contribute to a high-performance culture
  • Maintain accurate shift records and communicate effectively with leadership

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience as a Leading Hand or senior operator in open-cut mining
  • Strong working knowledge of safe operating procedures and WHS requirements
  • Ability to mentor others and set high standards for safety and performance
  • Solid communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a production crew
  • Basic competence with computers and Microsoft Office (or willingness to learn)
