Your new company

Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) is an industry-owned, industry-led Jobs & Skills Council (JSC) funded by the Department of Employment & Workplace Relations (DEWR). We partner with industry, unions and government across the Arts, Personal Services, Retail, Tourism and Hospitality sectors to identify current and future employment trends and develop solutions that deliver better outcomes for employers, workers, learners, trainers, and educators.

The successful candidate can be based in Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra or Melbourne.

Your new role

  • Lead and conduct applied research on workforce trends, emerging occupations, and training needs.

  • Generate high-quality reports and briefings that communicate findings to varied audiences across government and industry.
  • Oversee and project-manage research and reporting workflows, contributing to multiple concurrent projects from scoping to evaluation.
  • Inform workforce plans and sector updates, including deep dives into key occupations/segments.
  • Liaise with industry experts and research organisations to capture new evidence and emerging trends.
  • Collaborate across SaCSA to embed insights into program and product design.

What you'll need to succeed

- Proven research, analysis, and report-writing skills, communicating to senior (and junior) audiences.
- Proficiency in analytical and visualisation tools such as Excel, Python/R, SPSS, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Project management capability and comfort balancing multiple priorities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills: VET sector networks and experience engaging with VET policy (e.g., education/training departments, regulators) are desirable.

What you'll get in return
- Influence the direction of Australia's skills system across dynamic, creative, and service-oriented industries.
- Join a collaborative, inclusive team committed to continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making.
- Opportunities for professional development and work with national impact.
