What You'll Be Doing

As a Driller's Offsider, you'll be working side-by-side with experienced drillers in the field, supporting day-to-day operations and learning the ropes of one of the most physically demanding and respected trades around.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Driller: Help operate and maintain drilling rigs and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Handling Equipment: Load, unload, and move heavy tools, rods, and core samples serious physical work.
  • Operating Support Vehicles: Safely use machinery and vehicles critical to the drilling process.
  • Site Maintenance: Keep the drill site clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Core Sampling: Retrieve, handle, label, and store geological samples correctly for analysis.
  • Safety First: Follow strict safety protocols to protect yourself and your team.

This is not an easy job. You'll work long 12-hour days in tough, remote environments heat, dirt, and physical exhaustion come with the territory. You'll also be away from home on roster (typically 2:1), which can be challenging.

What You'll Need

  • Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship (no Working Holiday Visas).
  • WA residency- point of hire is Perth.
  • Valid Manual Driver's Licence (HR preferred).
  • Excellent physical fitness and mental toughness.
  • A strong work ethic, commitment to safety, and a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in remote, challenging environments.
