We are looking for a Accountant to join our accounts team based in our Geelong corporate office. You will be provided with on-the-job training and you will also benefit from the extensive experience of your colleagues. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in maintaining the systems and functions in line with corporate policy of the Group.
To apply you must be an Australian citizen or have residency within Australia.
Some key responsibilities are:
• Work in a safe and productive manner.
• Assist in the continual improvement of Kempe's processes.
• Preparation of monthly financial reports for trading branches
• Preparation of monthly reporting reconciliations for review
• Develop branch relationships
• Budgets and cash flow forecasts
• Preparation of annual audit and tax information request list from external auditors/tax advisors
• Payroll Processing assistance
Skills and experience
• You have been working for 5 or more years in industry
• Tertiary Accounting Qualifications
• Ability to read and write VBA, structure formulas and create pivot tables with Microsoft Excel
• You are tech-savvy and adapt to new systems and procedures
• You have strong organisational and communication skills both written and verbal
• Leadership capabilities
• Strong work ethic
• Responsiveness
• An aptitude to deal with pressure
• Willingness to learn, show initiative and be a positive "team player"
• Highest standard of ethics, confidentiality and professionalism
• Excellent time management skills
Your new role,
Some duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Formulate sell rate schedules for potential contracts
• Assist branch personnel with any ERP issues. (Microsoft Dynamics issues, project setup, invoicing, purchase orders, rates, timesheets)
• Analysis of monthly balance sheet accounts for corporate reporting
• Reconcile inter branch/company accounts
• Reconcile major bank accounts on monthly basis
• Generate financials statements and facilitate account closing procedures monthly
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation of assets
• Compare budget costs to actual costs
• Any other special projects as directed by senior managers
• Annual stock takes
• Complete BAS returns in compliance with ATO requirements
• Cooperate with external auditors/tax advisors
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
• Proven experience as an Accountant (essential)
• A broad range of skills and expertise across general accounting, management accounting, GST and BAS preparation and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work in a small team and desire to make a mark in our Group
• Willingness to embrace and mentor younger staff/team
