As a Motor Claims Consultant/Property Claims Consultant, you will play an important role in managing complex liability claims, providing expert recommendations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will report to the Claims Manager.

Positions Summary

As a Motor or Property Claims Consultant, you will play a key role in managing claims efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service. This includes maintaining strong relationships with customers, brokers, agents, and service providers, and working closely with outsourced partners to maximise recoveries and streamline processes. You'll be responsible for handling disputes, complaints, and breaches with professionalism, escalating issues promptly to the appropriate teams. A solid understanding of insurance provisions, the Insurance Contracts Act, and other regulatory requirements is essential, along with a commitment to compliance and continuous improvement. You'll also support system enhancements through testing and contribute to process improvements and training initiatives under the guidance of the Claims Manager.

Motor Claims Consultants

Role Description

We are currently seeking 2 experienced, and outcome-driven, 
Motor Claims Consultants
 to join our small in-house Claims team to manage MSIG's motor claims and motor claims-related activities. This role is perfect for someone with a proven track record of handling claims cases related to motor, delivering exceptional customer service, and who enjoys a hands-on approach and working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Performance:

  • Manage all forms of motor claims within your delegated authority, providing expert recommendations on settlements, policy coverage, recovery, and declinatures, where necessary.
  • Liaise and collaborate with loss adjusters, solicitors, and other experts on intricate claims matters.
  • Collaborate with other MSI departments (Finance, Reinsurance, Underwriting, and Customer service) about relevant claims matters.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with other stakeholders.
  • Manage major and complex claims within your delegated authority, providing expert recommendations on settlements, policy coverage, recovery, and declinature.
  • Liaise and collaborate with solicitors, loss adjusters, and other experts on intricate claims matters.
  • Collaborate with other MSI departments (Finance, Reinsurance, Underwriting, and Customer service) about relevant claims matters.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with other stakeholders about large and complex claims.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Insurance qualification to Associateship level under the Australia and New Zealand [MV1] Institute of Insurance or equivalent.

Property Claims Consultant

We are currently seeking an experienced, and outcome-driven, 
Property Claims Consultant
 to join our small in-house Claims team to manage MSIG's property claims and property claims-related activities. This role is perfect for someone with a proven track record of handling claims cases related to property, delivering exceptional customer service, and who enjoys a hands-on approach and working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Manage all forms of property claims (with some coinsurance) within your delegated authority, providing expert recommendations on settlements, policy coverage, recovery, and declinatures, where necessary.
  • Liaise and collaborate with loss adjusters, solicitors, and other experts on intricate claims matters.
  • Collaborate with other MSI departments (Finance, Reinsurance, Underwriting, and Marketing) about relevant claims matters.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with other stakeholders.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Ability to work under stress and sound judgement about escalating issues promptly.
