Formidable Strength & Conditioning is WA's leading swimming-specific performance facility — built for swimmers, by swimmers.

We coach everyone from junior state athletes to open-water legends, training for events like the Rottnest Channel Swim. Every program is purpose-built to support performance, resilience, and longevity in the sport.

No mirrors, no egos — just structured strength training, expert coaching, and a deep understanding of what swimmers need to stay healthy and improve in the water.


The Opportunity

We're seeking a motivated and reliable coach to join our team on the gym floor for approximately 10 hours per week.

You'll be part of a collaborative, high-performance environment helping swimmers get stronger, move better, and stay injury-free.

There are no programming responsibilities to start, but plenty of room to grow as your confidence and experience develop.


What You'll Do
  • Support the delivery of small-group strength sessions for swimmers
  • Provide feedback on movement, safety, and lifting technique
  • Assist with setup, athlete flow, and tracking training data
  • Create a professional, supportive, and swimmer-focused atmosphere
  • Learn and apply swimming-specific training principles

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • Certificate III and/or IV in Fitness
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

Desirable:

  • Background or experience in swimming — as a coach, athlete, or both
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for athlete development and helping swimmers stay in the water
  • Interest in learning swimming-specific strength systems
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a growth mindset

Pay & Conditions
  • Paid under the Fitness Industry Award [MA000094], classified at Level 3–4 (Casual)
  • Hourly rate includes the 25% casual loading in lieu of leave entitlements
  • Penalty and overtime rates apply for work outside ordinary hours
  • Superannuation is paid in addition to the hourly rate
  • All work is fully compliant with Fair Work Australia standards
