The Role

The Event Hub Manager is a key member of the core team for Kunanyi Mountain Run March 2026) and DIVERGE Skyruns (1-3 May An expansive role, your mind has to understand our long term vision and 5yr strategy, then lead the operational detailed planning, and get in the trenches managing and getting your hands dirty delivering the events.

The role is responsible for leading programming, planning and delivery of the run/event hubs. You will have strong emphasis on nurturing team coordination and efficiency, a risk management culture, and an exemplary customer journey focus.

This is a local hire (Hobart, Tasmania) contract role and requires travel to Queenstown, Tasmania. Immediate start and completion end of May 2026. Ongoing work will be available for the right person.

Primary Duties

  • Assist event development and concept planning
  • Contribute to the risk assessment and deliver on the agreed/assigned risk controls
  • Lead detailed event and site planning, preparation of event documentation and permit applications
  • Event Hub site management inc bump in/out and operation and permit/HSE compliance
  • Planning, procuring and managing all required festival infrastructure and services including contracts and compliance
  • Production scheduling and management - staffing/volunteer shifts/requirements/briefings, vehicles/accom/meals
  • Coordinate/assist logistics – working in conjunction with the course team when required
  • Bar and Merchandise coordination including retail/service experience design, and Liquor Licensee
  • Act as Assistant Race Director, or Acting Race Director as required
  • Assist recruitment
  • Manage relevant/assigned stakeholders
  • Contribute to company and operations policy and procedures from time to time
  • Contribute to evaluation and reporting – for internal and external purposes
  • Assist grant writing – applications and acquittals
  • Assist servicing existing sponsorship relationships and in preparing partnership proposals for identified prospects
  • Coordinate team meetings, staff/volunteer briefings, post event reporting
  • Plan and deliver recognition inc partner/volunteer thank you party's
  • Other reasonable responsibilities as assigned

Your skills and attributes

  • Perhaps you live within presence of kunanyi
  • 5+yrs of outdoor event experience and proven site design & management capability
  • Works well in teams with competing requirements
  • Communication skills – proactive, encouraging, professional
  • Sound HSE / compliance understanding and diligent delivery
  • Strong relationships with event suppliers, and the festival/events community in Tasmania
  • Time manager genius
  • Ability to work remotely and with limited supervision – takes ownership for outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability and comfort to:
  • strategise the big picture, to jump in the trenches to get stuff done, and everything in between
  • manage tight budgets and maximise benefit realised
