We are seeking a motivated and passionate Demi Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team here at North Ryde RSL

Reporting to the Executive Chef and Senior Sous Chef, the Demi Chef will play a key role in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes that meet our high standards of quality and consistency. This role is ideal for an individual who has strong foundational skills and is looking to develop their career in a supportive and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure consistent and smooth running of food production.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specification utilising standard recipe cards, kitchen management systems and served at the correct quality, portion size, and temperature.
  • Assist with managing food logs, escalate issues to the Executive Chef/Senior Sous chef.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and refine menus, experimenting with new dishes, balancing flavours and ensuring the menu aligns with the Club's concept.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock rotation to minimise waste and ensure the kitchen is always stocked with fresh ingredients. ensure that all wastage is correctly recorded, and records are forwarded to Executive Chef.

Skills & Experience:

  • Trade Qualifications – Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years' experience.
  • Experienced in all cooking methods.
  • Ability to create fusion dishes and work with others to develop a menu.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety regulations.
  • Food handlers' certificate(minimum) or food safety supervisor certificate (preferred).
  • Exceptional skills in communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
