The Role

We're looking for a proactive and positive VET In Schools Program Officer to join our team. This is a hybrid role — you'll balance working from home, being out on the road visiting schools and partners, and spending one day a week at our facility. While we would ideally love someone Southside-based, we're more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude and cultural fit.

This role is all about connection. You'll work closely with schools, students, organisations and parents to promote our VET In Schools Certificate I & II programs. You'll drive business development activities, support the enrolment process and ensure programs run smoothly from start to finish.

A key part of this role is helping students identify clear career pathways. You'll help to connect them with GTO's, ACAP's, Employers and Partners — supporting them to achieve their career goals. Ultimately, you'll also play a part in reverse marketing VETiS graduates into apprenticeships and traineeships with Major Training.

In addition to supporting schools and employers in your region, this role will also provide remote support to our Far North Queensland (FNQ) teams with their VET In Schools programs, ensuring consistency and strong outcomes right across the state.

What You'll Do

• Build strong relationships with schools, students, parents & stakeholders to promote our VETiS programs
• Support students with enrolments, inductions and ongoing program needs
• Work alongside our Field Officers, ACAPs, industry leaders, employers, partners and GTOs to help students find clear career pathways
• Represent Major Training at school visits, career expos and community events
• Be an active part of a supportive, high-performing team that values energy and initiative

What We're Looking For

• A positive, energised team player with a proactive approach
• Strong organisation, time management and communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain relationships across schools and industry
• A passion for helping students take the first step into their future career
• Experience in education, training or school industry liaison roles is preferred
