About the role:

The Power Generation Sales Specialist based in Perth is responsible for driving sales growth within the power generation segment by identifying new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and delivering tailored solutions that meet client needs. This role requires strong technical knowledge of power generation equipment and a strategic approach to market development.

Key Responsibilities:


• Develop and execute sales strategies to grow market share in the power generation sector.


• Lead generation and qualification


• Identify and nurture strategic leads.


• BDM focus (strategic growth, partnerships, new markets, high-value opportunities)


• To facilitate and foster relationships with clients in our target markets to be viewed as the first choice supplier.


• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across mining, industrial, and infrastructure markets.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and stakeholders.


• Provide technical support and product recommendations tailored to customer requirements.


• Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and marketing, to deliver end-to-end solutions.


• Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.


• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategy.


• Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business performance metrics. Develop professional business relationships with key customer decision makers, and where possible, obtain long-term contractual supply agreements with those clients


• Ensure prompt & courteous service to meet the needs of both internal & external customers that supports the professional image of the company


• Participate in the development of processes and procedures that result in improved business performance and outcomes


• Develop and maintain effective systems to capture & monitor market intelligence, customer trends and competitor activity


• Continually promote the Company products and services to increase customer base and internal sales revenue


• Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications


• Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests, where necessary


• Respond to internal customer and external supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations


• Coordinate with store personnel to ensure that inventory stocks are kept at required levels, taking into consideration the sales life cycle, invoice posting and inventory control & management through to tracking invoice payment


• Availability to accept emails and calls after standard, reasonable hours to deal with business-critical issues determined by the employer


• Other tasks as directed by your Manager


• Revenue growth from the development of existing and new long-term customers.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:


• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in power generation or industrial equipment.


• Strong understanding of diesel generators, hybrid systems, and temporary power solutions.


• Current Driver's License


• Demonstrated experience in strategic management within a sales environment


• Highly developed and recognisable communication, negotiation and influencing skills


• Proven ability to manage outcomes and expectations with senior business leaders and key stakeholders, maintaining strong professional relationships


• A recognised team leader, strategic lateral thinker, and consummate negotiator


• Ability to communicate at all levels of business and with all manner of customers


• Experience managing client accounts and budgets with a friendly, outgoing and professional demeanor


• Results driven, solutions-oriented, and highly organised with a strong analytical capability


• Demonstrable business acumen, with the ability to operate in a highly entrepreneurial manner


• Excellent and recognisable negotiating and communication skills


• Exceptional organisation and planning skills with strong adherence to deadlines


• Patient, flexible and adaptable to changing and challenging circumstances


• Ability to contribute to ongoing improvement and expansion in your own knowledge and skill set


• National Police Clearance


• Able to work unsupervised


• Strong analytical capability
