We are seeking a 'Specialist Claims Estimator/ Supervisor' (Insurance Services) to join our growing team. The role full time (42.5 hours per week), Monday through Friday, will be office based and flexibility of a working from home day, once trained. CRA will provide the successful applicant with a Microsoft Surface and a work-from-home setup. Staff training is paid, and employees have access to a free Employee Assistance Program.
About you
CRA are in search of a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team We are seeking someone who can combine attention to detail and knowledge of the building industry, with an empathetic, calm approach and a can-do attitude. Working from home at times, the ability to work independently, whilst still fostering a team mentality, is a must.
A proficiency for navigating web-based portals is a key asset for this role, as we operate in a digital environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work with diverse technologies, whilst possessing a knack for clear and effective written and verbal communication. We are seeking someone who is meticulous in their work, ensuring accuracy, precision, and ability to work to timeframes, KPIs and as per insurance Product Disclosure Statements.

About the role
The Specialist Claims Team is responsible for office-based estimating and supervision of insurance building claims, with a primary focus on regional areas. This team plays a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely assessments by working closely with regional trades and assessors to produce high-quality reports and quotations.
In addition to claim management, the team is deeply involved in data capture and analysis, ensuring that costing sheets and reporting templates remain current and compliant with client requirements. This analytical approach supports continuous improvement and maintains the integrity of our estimating processes.
Key criteria
Knowledge/Qualifications/Licenses:
- Essential: Relevant building knowledge or a trade background.
- Essential: Proven history of working collaboratively within a team of both office-based staff and trade based.
- Experience in the Insurance repairs industry (highly regarded).
Skills/Experience:
- Ability to understand residential insurance repair work and to create estimates for repairs and see repairs to completion.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, and an ability to manage caseloads within strict KPI time frames.
- Advanced verbal and written skills, including the ability to draft correspondence, reports, and emails.
- Ability to liaise with a wide range of clientele and a strong focus on quality customer service outcomes.
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
- Highly proficient technology skills including computer use plus Microsoft Office Suite, iPhone, and SharePoint.
- An understanding of the Building Code of Australia.
- Ability to maintain safe work practices in line with WH&S policies and procedures through an understanding of the Work Health Safety Act
- A commitment to ongoing professional education and training.
