Moon Dog World in Preston is looking for a Full-Time Junior-Sous Chef to join our kitchen crew

Moon Dog Brewing are one of Victoria's largest independent breweries, we produce a wide range of fun and delicious beers and seltzers that are available across the country and around the world.

In 2019 we opened our second awesome venue – Moon Dog World Our large kitchen is fully equipped and offers a wide array of pub classics alongside a selection of large and small sharing dishes. And we have just opened three new venues in 2024 The opportunities to grow with us are huge

We're seeking an experienced Junior Sous Chef to work with our Head Chef & Sous Chef in taking the reins in our large, well kitted-out kitchen. You will help to lead our kitchen team in smashing out delicious dishes in our large brewery space in Preston.

An emerging leader with experience in fast-paced, large kitchens, you will hustle to ensure Moon Dog World is one of the best places to work & eat That includes, but is not limited to:

  • Running the pass in the absence of the Head Chef & Sous Chef.
  • Overseeing post-service pack down and cleaning, ensuring all required procedures are followed.
  • Managing kitchen compliance records.
  • Supervising and guiding casual/junior staff, ensuring productivity & efficiency.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring professional standards in food quality are met.

The ideal candidate will have several years proven experience in similar roles (large, pumping, pub-like venues with function experience) and take great pride in what they do.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years experience as a qualified chef
  • Experience in leading & managing busy service periods
  • Switched on and hungry to learn & advance in the kitchen
  • Strong food knowledge, ideally Gastro-pub type cuisine
  • Experience with ordering and stock control
  • Positive, friendly attitude, good people skills
  • Strong problem-solving & organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety standards
  • The ability to work nights, weekends, and public holidays
