Enterprise Technology Architect

We're on the lookout for a diligent Enterprise Technology Architect, responsible for designing and delivering secure, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions. This role will drive the modernisation of the organisation's technology domain by strategically applying architecture governance and enabling agility, reliability and improved cost management and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define strategies for Technology sub-domains, including data centre infrastructure, networking, storage and back-up, compute, and end-user computing in the context of UCQ's requirements for reliable, modern and cost-effective ICT services.
• Identify and plan for opportunities to adopt Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and emerging cloud technologies to meet evolving business needs while delivering increased value in terms of resilience and/or operational efficiency.
• Design hybrid and multi-cloud architectures that integrate seamlessly with on-premises infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership in infrastructure and cloud solution design, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and business requirements.
• Oversee the development of future-state Technology Reference Architectures, incorporating operational, strategic, research and phasing out technologies as well as cloud capabilities to enhance scalability and agility.
• Lead governance processes to ensure infrastructure designs meet functional and non-functional requirements, such as performance, reliability, security, monitoring and compliance.
• Establish best practices for monitoring and optimising cloud resources to ensure cost efficiency, reliability and operational effectiveness appropriate to UCQ's risk appetite.
• Work closely with senior managers, architects, and technology teams to deliver infrastructure and cloud solutions that support business and technology goals.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
• 10 years' active experience in Solution Architecture on infrastructure & technology-based projects or 5 years in Enterprise Architecture Roles
• Experience developing datacentre infrastructure and cloud strategies and roadmaps aligned with organisational and technology goals, focusing on scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Experience developing architecture artefacts including conceptual, logical and physical designs, test & migration plans and transition to support documentation.
• Strong understanding of project methodologies and lifecycles, ability to turn initiatives into projects with detailed scopes and creation of project initiation deliverables.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
• A can-do attitude, coupled with the willingness to go the extra mile.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to pivot priorities depending on the needs of the organisation.
• High attention to detail and accuracy; pro-active approach to tasks.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the not-for-profit sector.
