About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Enterprise Architect to join a high-performing Enterprise Architecture team within a large, government-focused organisation. This role will provide architectural leadership across multiple initiatives, shaping ICT solutions and ensuring alignment between business strategy, enterprise transformation, and technology direction. You'll be responsible for developing architectures, roadmaps, and blueprints that support the organisation's long-term goals, while providing expert advice on enterprise strategy, governance, and compliance. The position offers the opportunity to influence major ICT programs and contribute to the continuous improvement of business and technology alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project-specific architectures, roadmaps, and blueprints that support organisational strategy and stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide expert advice on alignment between business strategies, transformation initiatives, and technology direction.
  • Prepare high-quality submissions, briefs, and presentations to inform executive and stakeholder decision-making.
  • Build a holistic view of the organisation's business processes, technology landscape, and strategic direction to ensure ICT alignment.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and technical teams to define architectural requirements and support project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise roadmaps, including ICT resource and system portfolio plans.
  • Engage with stakeholders across government and within the organisation to drive governance, architecture standards, and best practice adoption.

Skills and experience

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in an Enterprise Architecture role within a large, complex environment.
  • Proven ability to articulate architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience working across business, solution, and security architecture disciplines.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and consultancy skills, with experience influencing senior-level decision-makers.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise governance, change management, and release management processes.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering practical, simplified solutions.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and organisation.

Desirable

  • Experience developing business architecture frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Background in public sector or large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of ICT strategic planning and roadmap development.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with emerging technology trends and their application within enterprise settings.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and disciplines.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive, outcomes-focused mindset.

Mandatory requirements

  • Current TOGAF certification, with demonstrated experience applying TOGAF principles in ICT project environments.
