About the role

This is a great opportunity to lead a team delivering vital administrative support across TAFE Gippsland's educational programs. As Team Leader Specialist Administration, you will guide and develop staff including specialist Education Administrators, Placement Coordinators, VDSS Coordinators and the AMEP Administrator, ensuring student-focused services from pre-enrolment to course completion.

You will oversee daily operations, align team activities with organisational goals, and respond to the needs of education delivery areas. Key tasks include managing reporting, supporting industry placements, maintaining VDSS partnerships, and ensuring accurate AMEP data.

You will also drive system and process improvements to boost efficiency and compliance while enhancing the student experience. By promoting collaboration, professional growth and continuous improvement, you will support your team to perform at their best.

About you

You're an experienced team leader who understands how to balance day-to-day operations with long term improvement. With a strong background in education/VET administration, you are confident managing a range of responsibilities while keeping your team focused and well supported.

You approach your work with clarity and structure, ensuring that processes are consistent, deadlines are met, and compliance requirements are maintained. You know how to navigate competing priorities and work across departments, always with a focus on delivering reliable, high quality support.

Just as importantly, you take an active role in developing your team by setting clear expectations, providing guidance, and fostering an environment where people can grow while meeting the needs of the organisation.

Qualifications and experience

  • A formal qualification in Business (highly desirable) or substantial equivalent experience
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a complex administrative or education setting
  • Solid experience in education or the TAFE sector is essential
  • Previous experience in Educational Delivery portfolios is highly regarded
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and systems used in administration and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people, streamline processes, and influence positive change
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
