Shape the Future of Vocational Education

TAFE Gippsland is seeking two innovative Product Development Specialist's to drive our strategic education product portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager, Product & Innovation, you will lead the full lifecycle of educational product development—from market research and ideation through to successful program launch, pilot, delivery and transition into business as usual delivery.

This role sits at the nexus of educational innovation, industry partnerships, and market demand. You'll champion user-centred design, work cross-functionally, and synthesise insight from students, staff, and industry to deliver solutions that have real impact for Gippsland's learners and employers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the systematic design, development, and piloting of new educational products aligned to TAFE Gippsland's strategic objectives and regional workforce needs.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop market-informed product strategies and identify high-value growth opportunities.
  • Conduct research, user interviews, and competitor analysis to uncover actionable market intelligence.
  • Apply contemporary design thinking, agile development, and evidence-based practices to create products that inspire, engage, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee go-to-market strategies, delivery, and transition successful products to mainstream delivery.
  • Ensure all programs meet compliance standards, quality assurance benchmarks, and leverage the latest educational technologies.

About You

You are a strategic thinker and skilled project leader with:

  • Proven experience developing and launching innovative educational products, ideally in a VET/TAFE environment.
  • Strong understanding of VET sector frameworks, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to influence and inspire.
  • Demonstrated ability to research markets, analyse data, and convert insights into actionable product opportunities.
  • A collaborative, creative, and outcomes-focussed approach to problem solving.
  • Proficiency in leveraging emerging technologies and digital platforms for education delivery.
  • Experience with the end-to-end product development lifecycle and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Design, Marketing, Innovation, Education or a related field.
  • Minimum two years' experience in new product development in an educational context.
  • Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance.
  • Current Police Check (not older than 12 months).
  • Current Driver's License (some travel between campuses is a requirement of the role).
