We do work that really matters
The Office for Youth is led by the NSW Advocate for Children and Young People. Established on 1 July 2025, the Office for Youth serves as a vital link between the NSW Government and young people, ensuring their voices influence policy and decision-making. It focuses on creating accessible and relevant platforms for youth engagement, aiming to empower young people with the information and resources needed to participate in issues that matter to them. The Office for Youth's work is guided by five key priorities: consulting with youth to drive meaningful change, promoting their voices through co-designed policies, advising government via a Youth Advisory Council, supporting key stakeholders with informed recommendations, and fostering innovation to meet evolving needs. Through creative outreach and active presence at youth events, the Office for Youth strives to rebuild trust and enhance communication between young people and government.
Under the leadership of the Advocate for Children and Young People, the Office for Youth also works to support the improvement of the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all children and young people in NSW as outlined in the Advocate's enabling legislation, The Advocate for Children and Young People Act 2025.
