The Role
We are seeking a Junior IT Support Specialist to assist in maintaining and troubleshooting our IT systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across the company. This role is perfect for someone passionate about technology and looking to develop their IT skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You'll be supporting the IT team with daily operations, offering technical assistance to staff, and ensuring our network and systems are running effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Assist with maintaining and monitoring the company's IT infrastructure (network, servers, etc.).
- Support the setup and configuration of workstations, peripherals, and office hardware.
- Assist with software installations, upgrades, and system updates.
- Perform routine system checks and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain and organise IT inventory (hardware, software, licenses).
- Assist with backups, data recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Collaborate with the senior IT team on special projects, including network upgrades and new system implementations.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and security protocols across the company.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a related field, with a solid understanding of computer hardware and software.
- Familiarity with Windows and Mac OS environments, including troubleshooting and system administration.
- Knowledge of basic networking principles, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills to assist staff with technical issues and provide clear solutions.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- An understanding of cloud-based platforms and software, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, is a plus.
- IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus but not required.
