Scope of Services :

  1. Lead, plan and deliver critical and complex to very complex engineering activities, and provide advice in the field of explosive ordnance engineering under broad direction.
  2. Development of Safety Case documentation to support planned activities early calendar year 2026.
  3. Stakeholder engagement to support development of safety case documentation under a compressed schedule.
  4. Translate high level goals and outcomes, identify issues and uncertainties and incorporate these into planning, decision making, priority setting and implementation.
  5. Implement explosive ordnance engineering knowledge to develop advancements to established engineering principles, techniques, methods and regulations.
  6. Evaluate technical and design packages including scoping, planning, and reviewing and implement actions.
  7. Lead and ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into explosive ordnance engineering activities.
  8. Link the commercial outcomes of a project with the engineering requirements to ensure GWPC stages meet the required specifications to deliver on schedule.
  9. Lead certification activities, using the engineering management system to ensure ongoing technical integrity.
  10. Ability to provide engineering input into briefs and presentations.
  11. Provide technical input to explosive ordnance trial plans and test instructions.
  12. Attain Engineering Authority under the GWEO Group Engineering Management System.
  13. GWEO Induction Training and Defence Mandatory Training will be required at onboarding.

Candidate Requirement:

Essential:

  1. Knowledge and experience in explosive ordnance engineering, ideally within an engineering management system.
  2. 10 years plus experience within Defence.
  3. Previous experience
    working within GWEO Group (previously EMB) Engineering Management System and shall ideally have held Engineering Authority at Senior Engineer or capable of obtaining Engineering Authority within a period of 3-6 months.

  4. The ability to work with minimal supervision.[Essential] previous experience leading development of Safety Case documentation, including stakeholder engagement.
  5. Experience analysing engineering risks and assisting stakeholders with mitigation options.

Desirable:

  1. Developed system engineering requirements for explosive ordnance and/or guided weapons.
  2. Knowledge and experience in developing engineering management plans and documents.
  3. Experience researching and contributing to the development of technical engineering reports, briefs, presentations and documentation for review.
