About us

At the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), we're dedicated to carrying out meaningful work that drives improvements and elevates student achievement across NSW, now and into the future.

We accomplish this by supporting all school sectors with high-quality syllabuses, assessment (including managing the HSC and NAPLAN), teaching standards (e.g., accrediting teachers) and school environments (including setting and monitoring school standards).

NESA is a unique organisation in NSW (of around 730 FTE staff) with significant state-wide impact, visit our website to learn more about the important work we do.

About the role

The Recruitment Administrator role is a member of our centralised Recruitment team within the broader People and Culture (P&C) function at NESA.

As a vital member of our team, you'll provide expert administrative support throughout the entire recruitment process, ensuring that our hiring managers receive efficient and effective service while maintaining the highest standards of candidate care. Your responsibilities will include executing administrative tasks with precision and actively contributing to the enhancement of our administrative practices to optimise operations and elevate stakeholder satisfaction.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to:

  • provide comprehensive recruitment administrative support services (e.g. advertise vacancies, invite candidates to interview, draft letters of offer)
  • develop, monitor, and maintain systems ensuring timely, consistent, and high-quality recruitment administrative processes aligned with business needs
  • respond to candidate inquiries promptly and accurately through various channels to ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • manage shared email inboxes efficiently, providing timely and accurate advice to support business operations.
  • problem-solve routine administrative matters to ensure a smooth hiring experience for both managers and candidates.
  • maintain accurate and secure recruitment records
  • assist in generating reports and providing accurate recruitment metrics to support continuous improvement efforts
  • stay updated on relevant legislation, policies, and processes to ensure compliant and effective outcomes.

Our current processes are highly manual, and the work is undertaken across multiple systems and processes. This is a position for a highly flexible team member who will work with colleagues in our present operating context and adapt to change as we transition to a new recruitment system and more automated processes by mid-2026.

We invite you to download the role description for additional important information on the role.

About you

To be successful, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of a range of administrative services in a high-volume, fast-paced environment where practices must adhere to defined organisational expectations.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills to resolve day-to-day recruitment administration queries.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to write routine advice to hiring managers and candidates.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced Recruitment Administrator who is able to quickly transition to a complex and legislatively driven recruitment process within a high performing team.

At NESA you'll benefit from:

  • An organisation where your contribution has a big impact
  • An enviable CBD location (all modes of transport nearby, and excellent coffee and eateries) with refurbished offices
  • Flexible working arrangements and generous leave entitlements
  • Access to discounted health and fitness memberships via Fitness Passport, an employee assistance program and annual flu vaccinations
