Assistant Procurement Officer

MusterFire International, a market-leading Global supplier of Fire Suppression Systems is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive person to join our team located at our office in Prestons.


About The Role

As the Assistant Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the purchasing department by ensuring efficient and accurate procurement processes. You will be responsible for assisting in analysing sales data, maintaining efficient inventory levels and purchasing materials, goods, and services required for the organisation's operations.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing and identifying potential suppliers/vendors to meet the organisation's purchasing needs.
  • Collaborate with our Procurement Officer to determine procurement requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information in the procurement database.
  • Assist in research to identify new suppliers, products, and services that align with the organisation's needs and objectives.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.

What You'll Bring

  • Tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Accounting, Business or a related field
  • Previous purchasing and procurement experience
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems (desired)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
