About the positionReporting to Team Leader Horticulture, the Leading Worker Horticulture is responsible for the safe and professional delivery of programmed and reactive works aligned to Field Services Maintenance Service Level programs for open space assets across the city through the day to day on site supervision of activities undertaken by Field Officers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervision for on site work undertaken by Field Officers and contractors, ensuring that assigned work is completed on schedule, appropriate records of each job are undertaken, and Work Health and Safety requirements and relevant standards are complied with.
- As the key site contact, liaise with the community and maintain, monitor and report on Council's appearance of open spaces and assets.
- Report to the Team Leader the team's performance standards with regard to work quality, work, health and safety compliance and behaviour aligned to Council's values.
- Work with other departments and/or teams to deliver assigned and reactive work.
- Mentor and coach new team members including trainees.
Leading Worker Horticulture - Position Description
About youThe successful applicant will have:
- Certificate III Horticulture
- Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) / Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM)
- MR Licence, or willingness to obtain
- Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
- Loader ticket, or willingness to obtain
- Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment and police check.

Salary range is between $75,689 and $76,911 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications.
