The Role:

AP Bakery is collaborating with a friend with an amazing pizza focused restaurant Ciccerone to create APPIZZA.It's a bit of a hybrid style of pizza, think NY slice but in more of a Newhaven style (for the pizza nerds).

It's going to be a fun pretty lofi service order at the counter slices and drinks kind of vibe. The pizza has been designed by Stefano (head chef/owner of Cicerone) the dough will be mixed at AP BAKERY HQ using blends of flour including freshly milled spelt from our in-house mill.

We will be open Wed - Sun. Saturday and Sunday we will be offering lunch and dinner service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with specialty ingredients.
  • Craft and create a range of high-quality dishes whilst maintaining high presentation standards.
  • You will be responsible for all aspects of running your section properly in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a tight-knit team and will excel at providing exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ensure strict stock rotation and reduce wastage of ingredients, implementing and maintaining effective stock control procedures.
  • Collaborate with a small, tight knit team.
  • Ensure consistent product quality and adherence to health and safety standards - an understanding of HACCP, hygiene practices and following WH&S.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a commercial kitchen
  • Experience working as a pizza chef
  • A strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety
  • Ability to work a rotating roster
  • Great communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude
  • A love for local produce and sustainable food practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage large production volumes while maintaining product integrity.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to competing demands.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable
  • Follow health and safety protocols, policies, and procedures related to food and workplace safety.

Job Types: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $32.00 – $36.00 per hour
