Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Pizza Chef to join our dynamic Randwick team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in setting kitchen standards, ensuring a consistent, well-executed product, and fostering a supportive, high-performance kitchen culture. You will be responsible for preparing and executing our signature Italian pizzas with skill, creativity, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Lead in the production of food preparation from ingredient sourcing, preparation and delivery to table - ensuring each menu item meets and the restaurant's certified quality standards.

· Oversee, lead and mentor other team members in their use of techniques from preparation and production; ensuring the final product is always to standard. Continuously monitor team capability and techniques and proactively train and develop team members with diligence and patience.

· Ensure all areas and personnel under your management are always maintained to the highest standard, particularly with regards to hygiene regulations, cleanliness and appearance.

· Be proactively involved in the development of the restaurant's overall menu alongside key team members to incorporate seasonal ingredients and to create new dishes that are fresh, appealing and accessible.

· Monitor production, ordering and stock keeping (relating to your kitchen) to minimize waste, control food costs, and to ensure freshness is achieved at all times. Report these results weekly and ensure team members understand their responsibilities in the reduction of waste.

· Monitor, operate and maintain all equipment relating to your kitchen to ensure optimal efficiencies and guarantee up-time. Establish a regular and appropriate maintenance schedule for equipment and provide reports on all outcomes.

· Design recipes and plating standard to minimize waste and maintain consistency.

· Collaborate with management to ensure smooth operations, assisting with staff scheduling and team coordination.

· Engage with customers to gather feedback, introduce new menu items and to handle specific requests.

· Conduct regular quality checks on production items ensuring consistency and addressing any issues.

· Troubleshoot kitchen issues, resolving equipment problems and team challenges.

· Assist with supplier relationships, ensuring timely deliveries of fresh ingredients and negotiating pricing – this is to ensure the supply chain remains consistent and costs are maintained.

· Manage and monitor food storage to ensure adherence to all food safety standards and maintain reports to evidence standards and the monitoring schedule.

Requirements:

· Relevant qualification or equivalent work experience.

· Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Pizza Chef in a pizzeria.

· A passion for food and hospitality.

· Exceptional time management skills, communication skills, energy and attitude and the ability to work well under pressure.
