As the Director Contracts & Supplier Development, you contribute to shaping the future of procurement in NSW. As we implement a new operating model, you'll be at the forefront of driving reform and innovation across all procurement functions at Transport for NSW, one of the largest procuring agencies in the country.

In this role you'll:

  • Provide strategic leadership in managing Transport's contract management practices, supplier relationship frameworks and supplier development initiatives across Transport for NSW (TfNSW)
  • Ensure compliance with NSW Government procurement policies and alignment with organisational objectives
  • Implement contract lifecycle management strategies and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance, relationship management, and commercial value delivery
  • Lead the execution and oversight of enterprise-wide contracts for Transport
  • Design and lead capability uplift initiatives to strengthen contract governance, commercial acumen, and supplier management practices across TfNSW operational teams
  • Establish and implement a strategic supplier engagement and development program that delivers mutual value, leveraging supplier capabilities to drive innovation and performance
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive benefits realisation framework for contract and supplier management. This includes developing and embedding methodologies, tools, and reporting mechanisms to ensure the effective identification, tracking, and realisation of financial and non-financial benefits across all contract categories.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to contract managers and stakeholders to build organisational capability in benefits realisation and ensure alignment with organisational objectives and government policy.
  • Build, grow, and lead a high-performing team of procurement professionals, ensuring policies and processes align with regulatory obligations, government expectations, and accreditation requirements.

About you

You have extensive experience in developing, negotiating, and managing high-value contracts, ensuring compliance, performance, and risk mitigation across complex supplier agreements. 

You have a proven ability to build strategic supplier partnerships, drive continuous improvement, and implement performance frameworks to enhance service delivery and value for money. 

With strong knowledge of public sector procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing practices, you can influence senior executives, collaborate with industry partners, and develop commercial strategies that align with organisational objectives and long-term procurement goals. Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry-based experience at a senior level are essential.
