In this role you'll:

  • Lead the transformation of the procurement function at Transport for NSW, delivering a strategic vision that positions procurement as a value-adding, future-ready enabler of organisational success.
  • Design and execute a procurement transformation program, streamlining processes, systems, and capabilities to drive efficiency, cost savings, and innovation.
  • Embed a centre-led procurement operating model, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and value creation across the organisation.
  • Engage stakeholders at all levels to foster buy-in, manage resistance, and ensure smooth transition to the transformed state.
  • Develop and implement plans to address capability gaps and build a future-ready procurement function.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation across the procurement branch.
  • Build, grow, and lead a high-performing team of procurement professionals, ensuring policies and processes align with regulatory obligations, government expectations, and accreditation requirements.

About you

You are an experienced inspirational leader with a proven track record in leading large-scale procurement transformation initiatives. You ideally possess a deep understanding of public sector procurement policies, regulatory frameworks, and governance requirements, ensuring ethical and transparent procurement practices.

Your expertise in contract management, supplier negotiations, financial analysis, and strategic sourcing will be invaluable in maximising value and mitigating risks. You have a demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, influence senior executives, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive procurement reform and cultural change.

Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry-based experience at a senior level are essential.
