From pneumatic tube systems (PTS) and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), pharmacy automation, and custom-engineered logistics systems—Lamson helps essential facilities move smarter, faster, and more reliably.

As Lamson enters an exciting new phase of national growth, we're seeking a highly capable National Operations Manager to play a pivotal leadership role overseeing operations, engineering, purchasing, warehousing, light assembly, and project delivery.


About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the National Operations Manager will be responsible for Lamson's end-to-end operational and commercial performance across Australia.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team including:

• State Operations Managers and Assistant Operations Managers

• Purchasing, Warehousing & Light Assembly functions

• Engineering & Technical Services Team

• Project Coordinator & Manager

• Contracts Administrator

Your goal is to drive operational excellence through resource planning, stock control, and project delivery optimisation—ensuring every installation and service program is delivered efficiently, safely, profitably, and on time, with a strong focus on budget vs actual performance, contractor management, and gross margin improvement.


Key Responsibilities


• Provide national leadership and direction across operations, service, and logistics.

• Drive effective resource and workforce planning across all projects and service programs.

• Oversee procurement, warehousing, and stock control to maintain optimal inventory levels and accuracy and timely material supply.

• Manage project delivery performance - tracking budgets, schedules, and gross margins to maximise profitability.

• Lead contractor management, including engagement, scheduling, performance monitoring, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Coordinate the interface between engineering, purchasing, and project delivery teams to ensure seamless execution and commercial control.

• Support and mentor state managers and assistant managers to maintain consistent national standards.

• Implement and monitor KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

• Lead continuous improvement in systems, reporting, and operational processes.

• Ensure compliance with WHS and ISO 9001 quality management systems.


About You

You are an experienced, commercially minded operations leader who thrives in a technical, fast-moving environment. You balance strategic oversight with hands-on management and know how to lift project profitability through planning, contractor utilisation, and cost control.

You will bring:

• 8+ years' experience in national or multi-site operations, ideally within automation, technical services, infrastructure, or engineering.

• Proven experience in project delivery management, tracking budget vs actual performance, and improving gross profit margins.

• Strong background in contractor management, including performance oversight, compliance, and commercial negotiation.

• Expertise in resource planning, scheduling, and workforce management.

• Solid knowledge of stock control, inventory accuracy, and procurement.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong commercial understanding of budgets, KPIs, and contract management.

• Background in mechanical, electrical, or operations management (degree or trade).
