This role ensures safe, timely and cost-effective maintenance of Gold Coast Hospital facilities to meet quality standards and customer needs

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Electrician to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Carry out corrective and preventative maintenance using technical knowledge.
  • Liaise with customers to understand maintenance needs.
  • Ensure work is completed timely, cost-effectively, and safely.
  • Participate in on-call roster to provide 24-hour maintenance service.
  • Coordinate with team members and other trades for effective job completion.

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A recognised Australian Trade Qualification or equivalent
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Driver Licence
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $90 332 per annum
  • The following allowances may be applicable for qualified electricians and those employed under the BEMS certified agreement (No.8):
  • Skill Infrastructure Delivery and Maintenance Allowance - $1,170.00
  • Attraction and Retention Allowance - $2,500.00
  • Tool Allowance - $1,659.84

Maintenance Services, across the GCHHS, is part of Asset Management Services within the People and Operations division. Maintenance Services is responsible for statutory, preventative, and reactive maintenance across GCHHS, including electrical work, fire systems, plumbing, HVAC, bed maintenance, backup power, and garden upkeep.
