Our client is seeking an experienced SAP DSP and Reporting Specialist to join a leading Oil & Gas business based in Perth. You'll play a key role in designing, implementing, and governing scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions with SAP DSP as the core platform.

This is a hands-on, senior role where you'll partner with stakeholders, architects, and SAP teams to optimise data flows, deliver reporting continuity, and provide strategic guidance for a complex enterprise environment.

Location: Perth CBD (preferred) or anywhere in Australia 

Contract Term: 6–12 months

Start Date: Immediate

Daily Rate: Negotiable based on skills and experience

Key Focus Areas

  • SAP DSP Data Architect – design the target platform, define patterns.
  • Data Engineer / Pipeline Developer – build DSP pipelines and transformations.
  • Data Governance Lead – ensure security, lineage, and catalogue accuracy.
  • Testing & Validation Lead – maintain data accuracy and reporting reliability.

Responsibilities

  1. Assessment & Planning – analyse existing DSP models, legacy objects, and define migration strategies (lift-and-shift, remodel, hybrid).
  2. Design & Architecture – design modern DSP pipelines, define target architecture integrating S/4HANA, Azure or MS Fabric, and embed governance/security.
  3. Implementation & Migration – build pipelines, migrate master/transactional data, optimise DSP-native features.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement – work with business teams to validate KPIs, dashboards, and communicate design changes effectively.
  5. Testing & Cutover – reconcile BW vs DSP data, oversee cutover, and manage defect resolution.
  6. Continuous Improvement – apply DevOps to data pipelines, monitor/optimise performance, enhance governance and lineage documentation.

Skills & Experience

Technical:

  • Deep experience in SAP DSP (DataSphere / Data Intelligence / Data Services)
  • Strong ETL, data modelling, semantic layer design, SQL schema & access control
  • Integration expertise: SAP BTP, S/4HANA, MS Azure/Fabric, non-SAP sources
  • Knowledge of SAC Reporting, Power BI, BW, BODS

Functional / Business:

  • Mapping BW queries to DSP models/SAC dashboards
  • KPI validation and business reporting expertise
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement

Soft Skills:

  • Problem-solving mindset in ambiguous, evolving environments
  • Adaptable, collaborative, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Capable of working independently and delivering to tight timelines
