Responsibilities

  • Liaise with procurement, maintenance, and operations teams to identify business requirements related to material master data.
  • Analyse existing data structures and processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for standardisation.
  • Document functional requirements and translate them into system specifications within SAP MM and related modules.
  • Work with stakeholders and suppliers to gather, verify, and manage technical data, certifications, and specifications.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on cataloguing processes, data governance, and system use.
  • Monitor compliance with data standards, ensuring quality and integrity of master data for operational and business needs.
  • Support change management and system improvement initiatives to optimise business processes.

Main Tasks

  • Investigating and analysing business processes and data requirements to develop functional solutions.
  • Producing functional and technical specifications for system changes (SAP MM, Warehouse Management, and PM).
  • Creating and maintaining master and classification records, ensuring consistency with business rules.
  • Preparing reports and data analysis to inform decision-making and inventory optimisation.
  • Implementing and maintaining cataloguing standards, including descriptions, classifications, and technical details.
  • Collaborating with engineers for technical queries and approvals.
  • Conducting audits to ensure alignment with data governance and compliance standards.

Relevant Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Engineering
  • Industry certifications in SAP MM / Data Management (desirable).
  • Additional training in project management or business analysis methodologies
  • Engineering background with technical knowledge of the products and spares used for oil and gas maintenance.

Relevant Skills

  • High proficiency in SAP MM, query authoring (SQVI), and understanding of Warehouse Management and Plant Maintenance modules.
  • Advanced MS Excel, including VBA development and data automation.
  • Experience with Winshuttle Studio scripts including VBA development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data governance skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear business requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge in material cataloguing standards and structure
  • Proficiency in Australian industry standards for materials and equipment

Relevant Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in materials cataloguing or master data management within the oil and gas sector.
  • Proven record of implementing and maintaining master data governance frameworks.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to resolve business issues related to data quality and availability.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and engineering specifications relevant to oil & gas maintenance and operations.
  • Track record of identifying and delivering process improvements through system optimisation.
