About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team at Cardinal Care Support Services' in Dakabin, QLD. This is a casual position, providing support to individuals with mental health needs and other disabilities. Your role will be crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients and helping them achieve their personal goals.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Providing support and companionship to clients, engaging them in meaningful activities and social interactions
  • Advocating for client's rights and ensuring their needs are met
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and support provided
  • Collaborating with the wider care team to develop and implement personalised support plans
  • Promoting client independence, empowerment, and community inclusion

What we're looking for

  • A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or an equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the mental health or disability services sector
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients
  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with mental health needs and disabilities
  • A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to care
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Knowledge of the NDIS and experience in navigating the scheme an advantage
