Supporting the next generation of Aboriginal Health Workers is work of cultural significance, sector importance, and genuine social impact. Our client, a well-established and respected RTO, is seeking an experienced Aboriginal Health Trainer to deliver high-quality, culturally grounded training programs across primary health care. This will be based in Adelaide on a casual basis (two year contract).

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
- Prepare, deliver, and assess qualifications with workshops, simulations, and supportive learning environments
- Develop facilitation materials (session plans, presentations, resources) in a timely manner
- Ensure all delivery, resources, and assessments meet ASQA, AHPRA, AQF, and industry standards
- Research, adapt, and customise materials to ensure cultural appropriateness and student/industry relevance
- Review, maintain, and continuously improve assessment tools and learning resources
- Provide counselling, guidance, and flexible teaching approaches
Student Support and Assessment Management:
- Assess, organise, and oversee clinical placements and RPL assessments
- Assist students through teaching, support, and educational guidance
- Provide timely assessment feedback and results
- Evaluate learning outcomes and uphold high-quality training standards
QA and Compliance:
- Conduct validation and moderation activities
- Support AQTF, ASQA, and AHPRA compliance
- Review course delivery for quality, consistency, and cultural integrity
- Participate in internal/external meetings, networks, and culturally relevant discussions
- Maintain current competence through professional development
- Contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement activities
Student Support and Engagement:
- Provide accurate information about programs and enrolment processes
- Assist prospective students with course selection and applications
- Provide RPL advice and services
- Support learners experiencing difficulties and refer to specialist services where needed
- Maintain accurate records of progression, attendance, and contact
- Assist with course promotion and marketing activities
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Extensive clinical experience as an Aboriginal Health Worker or nurse in the ACCHO sector
- Experience delivering adult education to Aboriginal learners
- Skilled in active learning methodologies (simulation, case-based learning, role-play, demonstrations)
- Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and culturally appropriate learning materials
- Experience assessing Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Qualification Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122 or equivalent)
- Qualification in primary health care (Aboriginal Health Worker Cert IV, Enrolled/Registered Nursing)
- AHPRA registration with primary health care specialisation
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in adult education
- Experience in curriculum development
- Tertiary qualification in adult education
