Commercial Cookery & Hospitality Trainer/Assessor

Location: Adelaide, 5000

The Australian Business and Culinary Institute (ABCI) is a well-established Registered Training Organization (RTO) with a national footprint, focusing on high-demand trade skills. We are seeking a passionate and qualified Trainer/Assessor to join our growing team in Adelaide, delivering hands-on, practical training to a diverse, international student cohort.

The Role

You will be responsible for classroom and practical delivery across our key hospitality qualifications:

  • SIT Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • SIT Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
  • SIT50422 – Diploma of Hospitality Management
  • SIT Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering exceptional training and fair assessment.
  • Maintaining industry currency through ongoing professional development.
  • Participating in assessment validation and moderation activities.
  • Accurately documenting student progress and engagement.
  • Liaising with industry to ensure content remains best practice.

What You'll Need (Essential):

  • VET Sector Qualification: TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent/higher).
  • Industry Qualification: Holding a Diploma or higher in Cookery/Hospitality (e.g., SIT60322 or equivalent).
  • Experience: Recent experience teaching in the VET sector and current industry experience in the commercial cookery or hospitality fields.
  • Compliance: Demonstrated understanding of RTO operational requirements.
  • Administration: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Zoom.
  • Compliance: Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.

Bonus Points (Desirable):

  • Experience delivering training to international students.
  • Strong industry networks.
