Your new Team – Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES):
The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) is based at Curtin University and is funded by the Department of Education, with additional support from Curtin.
ACSES is a respected national research and policy centre with recognition and authority across Australia's universities (primarily Table A Providers). Its evidential insights are swiftly shared with universities. It undertakes projects that significantly extend evidence-based programs and evaluative capacity in the sector. The centre assists universities to improve outcomes for disadvantaged students and communities. This is a key hallmark of not just inclusive higher education but also delivering better outcomes for students and contributing to enhanced national prosperity and social cohesion.
ACSES undertakes its activities across several programs: Research and Policy; Trials and Evaluation; Data; and Disability Support.

About the Role:
This position reports to the Director of the Research and Policy program and supports the Directors of the Disability Support, and Data Programs. You'll play a pivotal role in managing strategic, operational, and stakeholder-related activities across complex initiatives. Your work will ensure alignment, accountability, and sustained momentum across programs.
You'll collaborate closely with Curtin's Research Office, other universities, and government agencies.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Develop and review strategic plans
- Engage stakeholders to define deliverables and manage expectations
- Monitor and evaluate program performance
- Oversee budgets and resource allocation
- Prepare project reports and documentation
Who we are looking for - Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- Postgraduate qualifications (or progress towards) and extensive relevant experience; or extensive relevant project management experience and expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated high level project management skills with the ability to manage and implement project plans to achieve desired outcomes within budget and resourcing constraints.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to consult and liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and with cross cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated high level written communication skills with the ability to construct clear and concise project reports.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to accuracy and detail within deadlines.
- Proven ability to work effectively with a cross functional team, including the capacity to supervise and manage other staff.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a tertiary environment.
- A formal certification/accreditation in project management.
Role Requirements:
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
