Reporting to: Executive Manager – Agriculture

Perth NRM is a highly regarded for-purpose organisation in the natural resources management (NRM) sector. We collaborate with governments (federal, state and local), community, academics and the corporate sector to deliver solutions to environmental issues. Our purpose is to empower people to positive ecological impact. We do this through coordination and support of agriculture, coastal and landcare programs.

Position Purpose

The Program Manager – Sustainable Agriculture will have responsibility for the planning, delivery and reporting of the Improving Agricultural Productivity by Restoring Natural Capital in the Swan Region project. The role will work directly with small landholders to deliver the contracted outputs, as well as oversee delivery contracts with project partners. The role will also contribute to overall activities of the Sustainable Agriculture team and may provide guidance/mentoring to junior team members.

Key Selection Criteria

ESSENTIAL

  • Experience managing all aspects of projects, including oversight of budget, contractor management, preparing outcome reporting and maintaining funder relationships.
  • Experience providing farmers and small land managers advice relating to groundcovers, soils and landcare principles.
  • Experience in GIS mapping and producing farm plans.
  • Confident and clear presentation skills, and experience coordinating community engagement workshops.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree in relevant field, or equivalent workplace experience.
  • Current 'C' Class drivers licence.
  • Australian residency or eligibility to legally work in Australia

DESIRABLE

  • Established industry and land manager relationships in the Perth Region.
  • Experience developing successful grant applications, sponsorships and partnership proposals.

This position is initially offered on a 0.6FTE basis, through to June 2028. Depending on candidate circumstance, there is potential to negotiate to a full time basis, dependant on skills and experience. The position is to commence as soon as possible, with flexible working arrangements, in a friendly, safe and progressive work environment.
