The role
As the Senior Project Officer Performance and Improvement, you will support your manager in leading strategic initiatives to improve how teams operate, with a focus on streamlining ministerial and parliamentary support processes using existing and emerging technologies, enhancing service delivery, and fostering a collaborative workplace culture. It's about driving meaningful change via creative technological solutions, cultural development programs, and smarter planning and reporting systems.
Your team will partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation, simplify workflows, and embed new practices that support long-term improvement. From guiding cultural development programs to managing reporting solutions and Budget Estimates preparation, your team will help shape how the organisation evolves.

What you will bring to the role
- Your understanding of ministerial and parliamentary services and your proven ability to liaise with senior executives on a range of ministerial and parliamentary products.
- A creative focus on problem solving
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in.
- Skilled in navigating politically sensitive environments with discretion, sound judgment, and strategic foresight.
- Process and systems optimisation through workflow analysis and technology integration.
- High level administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and competing demands.
Key knowledge and experience
- Experience in continuous improvement, process optimisation, and operational efficiency initiatives within a complex organisation.
- Ability to apply change management principles to support organisational transitions and cultural uplift.
- Technical proficiency with systems analysis, process mapping, and familiarity with automation technologies.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent professional experience.
