This role is a salary Grade 0910 with the base salary for this role starting at $129,464 - $142,665 base plus superannuation, commensurate with experience.

The role is temporary role up till 18 September 2027.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Project Officer.

As the Senior Project Officer, you will support the Strategy, Planning and Innovation team to deliver strategic infrastructure initiatives by managing workstreams, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and contributing to the development of priority projects.

Some of the key accountabilities for the role include:

  • Manage and oversee project planning, development and implementation of SPI team workstreams, including developing project plans, coordinating resources, managing budgets, meeting reporting requirements, and supporting project-related activities, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope in line with established objectives and key milestones.
  • Facilitate collaboration across government and with industry by organising stakeholder meetings, workshops, and briefings to support the development and delivery of SPI team workstreams, including preparation of agendas, meeting minutes, and related follow up.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to senior leadership, identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated input into the SPI team workstreams, including through robust document and file management practices.
  • Prepare executive briefs, ministerial correspondence, and Cabinet submissions related to the State Infrastructure Strategy (SIS) or as required to inform strategic decision-making and enhance stakeholder understanding of infrastructure priorities.

About You

You hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as project management, public policy, law, economics, urban or regional planning, engineering, data science, or possess equivalent professional experience. You demonstrate the ability to effectively manage competing priorities from diverse sources and consistently deliver outcomes within established timeframes.

Your work reflects a high level of attention to detail, including the capacity to interpret and analyse substantial volumes of qualitative and quantitative data from various inputs.

You have proven experience in information management and document control, along with a sound understanding of government processes. You are skilled in preparing accurate, timely reports for senior executives, the Board, and Government stakeholders.
