About the Role
Reporting into a high calibre Chief Financial Officer, this role will play a critical part in strengthening the organisation's financial capability and leadership.
The Financial Controller will directly oversee a high performing team of finance professionals, driving excellence in financial reporting, operational accuracy, and business insight. In this role, you will bring leadership expertise to foster a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to influence decision making, support growth initiatives and ensure financial integrity across the organisation.
This position is crucial to increasing trust and strengthening relationships between finance and the wider business. At times a hands-on position, it is a high impact role for a finance leader who enjoys balancing technical detail, people leadership and business partnering.
Key Priorities
- Streamline month-end processes and shorten reporting timelines.
- Resolve critical accounting issues including stock discrepancies and aged accounts payable balances.
- Develop accurate and forward-looking cash-flow forecasts and models to support decision-making.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated (5+ years) experience as a Financial Controller gained from medium to large sized organisations
- Proven ability to lead teams of 10+ and implement financial controls.
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP or similar)
- Advanced Excel capability and understanding of data structures, pivot tables, and reporting.
- Appetite for change management and resilience in complex environments.
- Personable, down-to-earth communication style; commercially astute and pragmatic.
- Strong leadership / people management experience
- Professionally qualified (CA/CPA).
- Experience operating at Financial Controller level in organisations of $300M + revenue, ideally within manufacturing, food and beverage, retail, distribution, or related sectors.
- Experience with internal controls and risk management
