Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Special Construction Project Manager to support innovative solutions. The selected candidate will be working on multiple programs and initiatives for L3Harris as the primary contractor. As a Project Manager, supporting the management and implementation of telecommunication and network solutions. The selected candidate will collaborate with internal and external teams. Work independently on projects from start to finish, including managing telecommunications special construction projects based on customer requests and user requirements. Other tasks include negotiating commercial vendor products, developing procedures for implementing new network designs and managing small to large network projects.

Manages telecommunications special construction projects resulting from customer requests for quote (RFP's) or telecommunication access solution orders that result in non-recurring construction scope and/or costBuilds and maintains relationships with carrier POC's responsible for implementing construction projects Maintains all electronic data and critical project documentation and as-builtsCreates and provides metrics/performance data and for use in program management reviewsSchedules project kickoff meeting with all parties responsible for implementationProvides daily support to implementation team and ensures vendors are communicating effectively with all internal and external stakeholdersProven working experience in civil construction managementAdvanced knowledge of civil construction management processes, means and methodsExpert knowledge of civil telecommunications specific products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards

Additional Technical Skills required are:

Understanding of Telecommunications Carrier LEC/CLEC & IXC connectivity and infrastructure
Knowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processesKnowledge of Transport/Access equipment installation, test & turnup including new installs, additions, removals, provisioning and turnup of systemsKnowledge of Telecommunications support systems (E.g., Access Cabling infrastructure, DC Power plants/Battery systems, etc.) including installation, test & turnup, additions, replacements and removalsKnowledge of civil engineering projects including public right of way permitting

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Proven experience in Project Management.
  • Proficient computer and software utilization skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, etc.)
