The Specialist Recruitment Consultant is responsible for contributing to the achievement of recruitment targets for ADF Careers, with a focus on driving applications through passive sourcing for a number of technical disciplines. The Specialist Recruitment Consultant will work closely with their Team Leader and the Recruitment Services Lead to identify roles across Navy, Army and Air Force with low levels of candidate engagement and placement. This role will focus on operationalising specific recruitment processes for challenging Technical, Trades and Professional roles.

Job Description

Reporting to a Recruitment Team Leader, you will seek and maintain a deep understanding of ADF roles to best match candidate's skills set, capability and suitability whilst delivering an exceptional candidate and client experience.

You will:

  • Seek and maintain a deep understanding of ADF roles to best match to a candidate's skillset, capabilities and suitability, delivering an exceptional candidate and client experience.
  • Proactively source passive candidates across a number of professional disciplines. (e.g. Health, Engineering, Trades)
  • Identify and address talent pipeline shortfalls through data and candidate pipeline analysis and development of external market recruitment strategies to engage with candidates and build specialist talent pools across Navy, Army and Air Force
  • Plan and action specific and targeted sourcing strategies to attract, engage and inform professional, trades and technical candidates
  • Build and maintain productive candidate networks which identify, engage and connect with professional and specialist passive candidates to communicate ADF career opportunities
  • Collaborate with the wider Recruitment and Events Delivery and Sourcing and Attraction teams to identify opportunities to attract, source and engage candidates to maximise target achievement.
  • Continuously analyse candidate pipeline data, ensuring qualified candidate pipeline is strong and meets requirements for current and future recruiting targets.
  • Collaborate consistently and closely with Target Fulfilment and Enlistment teams to ensure the successful enlistment of candidates.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly, monthly and quarterly placement delivery meetings, with data insights, progress reporting of delivery achievement and issue identification which may affect target or service delivery.
  • Maintain a high standard of written and verbal communication skills to ensure clarity and understanding of message with all stakeholders.
  • Work across multiple platforms simultaneously with high levels of productivity, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work collaboratively with the national Specialist Recruitment team to share market knowledge, successes, challenges and deliver a consistent recruitment experience.
  • Contribute to the collective success of the team through support of peers and accountability of own performance, whilst demonstrating a collaborative and resilient mindset.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of ADF Careers to build a culture of inclusion, transparency, learning and collaboration.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain a high service level client relationship through the provision of services that meet or exceed the expectations of Defence and the Adecco ADF Careers contract, further encouraging a strong and ongoing relationship between Adecco and the Commonwealth of Australia.
  • Ensure exceptional candidate experience through all interactions across all aspects of the candidate experience journey.

Your background will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated recruitment experience in sourcing, attraction and engagement of specialist, professional, passive candidates across a number of industries.
  • Proven sourcing skills across multiple platforms with expertise in engineering, health, trades, technical or professional services.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of end to end recruitment process, specifically assessment centre process or similar high volume, large scale recruitment processes.
  • Extensive experience in delivery to commercial targets and service deadlines with a focus on quality, stakeholder management and communication.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage competing priorities and maintain quality service delivery when working under pressure.
  • A collaborative approach to building professional relationships and working within a team to contribute to the team vision.
  • Resilient and adaptable mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and everchanging environment.
  • Organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Process driven with a customer service approach.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with multiple functions and stakeholders in a nationally dispersed environment.
