About the Role

Rigcom is currently seeking an experienced Advanced Rigger to join our dynamic and expanding team. This role plays a key part in supporting inspection, repair and maintenance projects across wind farms throughout Australia. Reporting to the Site Lead, this role will be responsible to rig, transport and prepare blade access platforms (BAP's) to support safe and efficient blade maintenance and repair work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport, mobilise and drive the BAP including towing it on its trailer to and from the job sites.
  • Conduct thorough pre-use inspections of rigging equipment and platform to ensure all components are in safe working condition and ready to operate.
  • Rig and prepare the platform to support safe and efficient repair and maintenance work.
  • Assist technicians working on BAP by safely operating the platform, managing the tagline system.
  • Interpret and follow site instructions and lift plans.
  • Actively participate in site inductions, toolbox and daily pre-start meetings.
  • Work closely with supervisors, other technicians and stakeholders on site.
  • Adhere to all safety and site compliance standards while supporting the blade repairs as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • High Risk Work Licence – Advanced Rigger or Advanced Scaffolder
  • Have full GWO Basic Safety Training (Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, First Aid) or willing to obtain one
  • Current Australian driving license
  • White Card, LVR/CPR
  • Enter & Work in Confined Spaces (within 2 years)
  • Experience setting up suspended scaffolds or swing stages highly desirable
  • Willing to do 3 weeks on, 1 week off roster
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol test

Desired Qualifications (Highly regarded)

  • GWO Blade Repair qualifications
  • IRATA qualifications desired though not essential
  • Rigging experience on wind farms desirable but not a deal breaker
