About the Role

As our new Operations Manager, you'll be the driving force behind the success of our Cairns dealership. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance sales performance with operational excellence and team development.

Your days will be fast-paced and varied. One moment you'll be on the showroom floor closing a sale or helping a customer choose the right equipment, and the next you'll be coaching your team, reviewing stock levels, or planning a promotional event.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and motivating your team to deliver outstanding service and results
  • Managing teams of 2-5 people with proven leadership and motivation abilities
  • Overseeing all dealership operations including sales, service, parts, finance and insurance
  • Managing stock and inventory to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Driving sales and promotions that grow revenue and strengthen customer relationships
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing staff, building a culture of success and loyalty
  • Reporting to the Managing Director, contributing ideas and strategies for growth

About You

You're a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. With a solid background in sales and team management, you know how to balance people, process, and performance.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in sales and leadership — ideally from an automotive, outdoor power, or retail environment, but we'll also consider transferable industries where you've driven strong results
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales and leadership experience with a proven track record of delivering strong results
  • Customer-obsessed — you go above and beyond to deliver great experiences, build loyalty, and resolve issues with professionalism
  • A strong communicator — confident, approachable, and able to motivate and guide your team
  • Commercially minded — you understand stock control, margins, and how to run a profitable operation
  • Organised and proactive — able to juggle multiple priorities while keeping an eye on the big picture
  • Passionate about growth — both your own and your team's, with a focus on training, mentoring, and developing future leaders

Most importantly, you're hands-on. You don't just manage from the sidelines — you roll up your sleeves, jump into sales, and lead by example.
