Join a team like no other with career support to take you further We are looking for a Manager, Employment relations to lead and manage a high performing team in the delivery of industrial relations, human resource, employee relations and advisory services to stakeholders across Queensland Health.
As the Manager, you will manage and coordinate emergent industrial matters and other strategic and tactical related functions. In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for the outcomes of the team and participates as a member of the Employment Relations management team.
What you'll do
- Lead and manage a discrete team in the delivery of a broad range of workplace relations matters, initiatives and project implementation including enterprise bargaining negotiations and outcomes, award development and maintenance, and emergent industrial relations issues in support of health service delivery state wide.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholder groups, including other Government departments, senior managers and unions.
- Provide leadership in the research and analysis of emerging industrial relations issues and options and develop effective and comprehensive responses to such issues.
- Provide high level strategic advice and support to senior executives, managers, employees and unions to facilitate the effective and consistent delivery of industrial relations and human resource services state wide.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial relations legislation, human resources policies, standards and procedures with the proven ability to apply such knowledge in resolving issues.
- Previous experience in/or knowledge of the healthcare sector and clinical workforce terms and conditions of employment or demonstrated capacity to rapidly acquire such knowledge.
- Demonstrated high level consultative, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to deal with complex issues in a sensitive and impartial manner.
- Ability to lead, mentor and develop employees (direct reports), identifying key learning opportunities for staff and empowering them by actively delegating tasks.
- High level expertise in managing the implementation of organisational change, organisational improvement and best practice concepts and initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to construct project plans that have clear and appropriate goals, timeframes and budgets.
