Mornington Peninsula, Australia PIER Marketing Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Job function

PIER Marketing Group offers outsourced marketing management to small and medium businesses from Mornington across Melbourne's SE Suburbs.

This role is primarily about driving and managing projects from start to finish – keeping work on track, on time and within scope while empowering the team to deliver excellent, error-free outcomes. Working closely with the Studio Manager and the design & development team, you'll oversee website and digital projects, champion best practice UX/UI, and step into strategic design when needed.

You'll also help shape and improve our studio systems and processes to ensure smooth workflows and consistently high-quality creative output.

Alongside this, you'll contribute to select design tasks – particularly where complex, user-driven problem solving and strong UX thinking are needed.

Key duties

Project Management & Delivery Support (primary)

  • Lead and drive digital and creative projects from start to finish – scoping requirements, building timelines, managing budgets and coordinating resources.
  • Plan, track and report on project progress to ensure work is delivered on time, on brief and error-free.
  • Support the Studio Manager by acting as a primary or secondary point of contact for clients and the internal team as needed, ensuring clarity, alignment and momentum at every stage.
  • Proactively manage risks, resolve issues and remove blockers to keep delivery smooth and stress-free.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control across all outputs, performing checks before client review.
  • Support and empower the studio team to produce their best work by working with the Studio Manager to keep the team's workflow, processes and priorities clear.
  • Facilitate swift, well-informed decision-making by guiding both clients and the team through challenges, removing roadblocks and driving efficient solutions to keep projects moving forward.

Digital Projects & UX/UI Design

  • Manage website projects end-to-end – from initial enquiry, support in quoting and proposals through workshops, research, sitemap planning, wireframes, design oversight and development handover.
  • Define and document clear goals, user needs and deliverables with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct UX reviews, user research and usability testing when needed to validate and inform design direction.
  • Create wireframes, user flows and high-fidelity UI designs for more complex or strategic projects.
  • Partner with developers to ensure seamless, accurate implementation of design solutions.
  • Maintain UX/UI best practice, including accessibility (AA) and long-term performance standards.
  • Communicate progress and next steps clearly to clients, keeping them informed and confident throughout each project.

Special Creative Projects (occasional)

  • Manage large creative projects from end-to-end, involving unique deliverables (eg. PR packs, video shoots, conference stands, out-of-home campaigns & competitions).
  • Work closely with external delivery teams as needed to execute these projects to an excellent quality (eg. Plan, run and attend video shoots, provide creative direction, concept work and strategic thinking).

General Graphic Design (secondary & occasional)

  • Support the team with occasional design tasks such as flyers, brochures, annual reports and other brand assets.
  • Manage print quotes and production with external suppliers.

Studio Systems & Process Development

  • Prioritise and manage multiple, concurrent projects with competing deadlines and deliverables.
  • Work closely with the Studio Manager to refine and document internal workflows to improve efficiency and consistency (briefing, feedback, website delivery and handover).
  • Maintain and promote best practice standards – UX/UI, accessibility, licensing, file management.
  • Keep up to date with UX/UI trends, tools and innovations to inform and elevate studio output.

PIER Creative & Web Development

  • Clearly present and champion the PIER Creative & Web offer to clients (and occasionally prospects).

  • Understand and cross-refer PIER's broader marketing services where relevant.
