Chef (Commis) Full-Time

The Barwon Heads Golf Club, ranked among Australia's top-tier courses, is steeped in tradition. Following a $20 million redevelopment, the Club's iconic heritage-listed Clubhouse – including its modern kitchen, lounges, bars, bespoke function areas and accommodation has recently reopened with exceptional new facilities for members, guests and staff.

We are seeking a Full-TimeChef to support the delivery of fresh, seasonal and high-quality food for our members and guests across à la carte, functions and clubhouse dining.

  • Full-Time position available
  • Includes 5 weeks Annual Leave

About the role

Working under the guidance of the Head Chef and senior kitchen team, you'll help deliver consistently high-standard food experiences across the Club's diverse dining offerings. Your responsibilities will include food preparation, supporting service, maintaining hygiene standards and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.

You will:

  • Prepare ingredients and support meal service under the direction of senior chefs
  • Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe kitchen workspace
  • Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and food safety documentation
  • Contribute to a calm, efficient and team-oriented kitchen culture
  • Help ensure consistency and quality in presentation and service

This hands-on role requires availability across weekdays, weekends and public holidays and involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

About you

You're passionate about food, eager to learn and grow in a high-quality kitchen and take pride in every dish you help prepare. You bring initiative, a strong work ethic and a team-first mindset.

You will also bring:

  • At least one year's experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Relevant culinary qualifications
  • A proactive and reliable work ethic
  • Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • A calm and focused approach in busy environments
  • Flexibility and willingness to work varied shifts and tasks
